Pumpkin Patch 2012

We had another successful trip to the pumpkin patch. The kids got very dirty and found their favorite pumpkins. Keegn even got bit by a goat.

Picture fun...

Keiza came down to visit and she has some fun with her phone camera. Here are a few results...

Happy 4th Birthday!

We had a fun birthday for Kylee this year...well we do every year but this year was "Dragons and Castles." The kids all decorated their own shields and were given swords to help them fight the dragon. When they weren't busy fighting dragons for candy, they were going crazy in the jumping castle. I think everyone had a fun time. Oh but I have got to stop making such strong pinatas. They broke two bats on the dragon I made this year...oops!

Hunting for Pumpkins

Keegn's first visit to the Pumpkin Patch was a success. He loved riding in the wagon and hitting the pumpkins. Most of all he loved spending time with his sister! This trip helped me realize how hard it really is to get two kids to smile and look at the camera at the same time. It didn't help that I was completely exhausted since a few hours prior I had competed in the Bisbee 1000 stairclimb. Which by the way was a blast. I got to do it with 2 of my favorite inlaws (Linda and Louie) and plan on doing it every year now. But...back to the pumpkin patch...

Follow The Yellow Brick Road...

We must have watched The Wizard of Oz a dozen times before Halloween, so when the night came...Kylee and Keegn really played their parts. We practiced skipping along the yellow brick road, singing "Somewhere over the Rainbow", knocking on the door of the Emerald City to see the Great Oz, and even melting the wicked witch. It was great fun! And not to brag or anything...but...I think a I did a pretty decent job sewing a dorothy dress. Best thing about it is she has already worn it to church. It was such an easy pattern I think I might make another one- with different material of course.

Have you ever seen a more perfect Dorothy? Kylee loves her ruby slippers. They are the only shoes I can get her to wear to church and actually keep on.

Keegn didn't mind keeping his costume on at all either. We went to a Halloween party for my Mom's group and then to Trunk or Treat. I really wanted to go real trick or treating...too bad it was on Sunday. There's always next year though. Oh and I did dress up as the tin man but definately was not as cute as these two.

Keegn is growing up too fast. I am happy Bruce will finally be home in May to finally meet him when he's 4mos old. Here's Keegn at 1mo. and 2mo. We haven't taken a 3mo. picture yet, it only happened on friday so there's still time. Kylee is still waiting for him to play with her, but we will get there. Personally I like the age when you can just sit them in a box. :)

Splunking

I guess you are never to young to start exploring caves. Keegn had his first hike up to Coronado cave at 2 months and at 2 and 1/2 years old Kylee hiked more than 3/4 of the way all on her own. Then a week later Kylee hiked up again and her and Keegn had their first adventure into the cave. It was fun. Mommy ended up hiking both of them back down though. What can I say- WE LOVE ADVENTURE!

Happy Easter!

Firefighter of the Year

I'm very proud of my brother who was named firefighter of the year. Wish he would have told me...thank goodness for a small town.

Keegn's First Smile

It was so cute the other night when after Keegn had finished eating, been changed and burped, I was holding him and he was getting ready to fall asleep then started laughing. At first I was like- what was that? But he laughed again and smiled. I told him I loved him and he laughed one more time, smiled and fell asleep. It's moments like this that make it okay to be up at 2am.

Growing up...

Keegn will be one month old this weekend. I cannot believe it has already been a month. He is doing great and I am remembering how to take care of a newborn all over again. It is amazing how much you can forget in 2 years. I cannot wait until he is a little bit older and we can all start going on outings.

True Love!

Kylee loves Keegn so much. All she ever wants to do is hold and kiss him. They are so cute together. Whenever she is holding him and he gets upset, she sings him a song that she made up and he always stops crying. She will be a great mommy one day.

Keegn William is here!

To make a long story short...Keegn was born at 1:12am on Jan. 29, 2010. He was 8lbs 5oz and 18.5 inches long. I'm definitely glad he did not bake for three more weeks like he was supposed to. My mom was in the delivery room with me since Bruce is gone training for his Combat Medic. I missed him, but my mom did great. My water broke around 9:30pm Thursday night and we finally got to the hospital around 10:30pm. By the time we got there my contractions were 3 min. apart- it was awful and I was only dilated to a 1.5. By 11:30 I was a 3 and constantly telling them they could get the epidural anytime now. I had my epidural by 12:30am and they checked and I was already an 8. A short while later I was 10+ and ready to have the baby. Three pushes or so and he was here. He had the chubbiest cheeks ever, but still my little cutie. Now he is a week old and comparing him to Kylee I feel like she is so grown up now. It almost makes me sad. My little girl is not the baby anymore. She loves Keegn to death and always wants to hold and kiss him. I cannot believe I am a mother of two. I really want Bruce to be able to come home and visit but it's not happening...boo hoo! Oh and this being the second one, I am definitely missing the whole "sleep when the baby sleeps" thing.

Playground, playground, playground...

One day we went to at least three different playgrounds. All that matters was that this little girl had a blast and made some more memories to keep of her Dada while he is away. Look at her smile!

At the cove with Dada!

You can't tell me these aren't the cutest faces you've ever seen? And Bruce says that Kylee gets her facial expression from me. Yeah Right! Kylee got to go swimming with Dada right before he left in October and that was all she talked about doing when he came back. Of course they had to go again before he flew back out, she wouldn't have it any other way. This time she made him take her when there were waves and the water slides were open. No more baby splashtime for this girl.
